Want to give your floor plans a clean, modern look? With Archicad's Graphic Overrides, you can easily customize the appearance of your elements based on certain rules.

Follow these steps to achieve a minimalist design for your floor plans!

Create a Graphic Override Combination

Open Graphic Overrides

  • Navigate to the Graphic Overrides Combination panel (Document > Graphic Overrides > Graphic Overrides Combination)
  • On the left, you'll see combinations—create a new one.
  • On the right, add three rules:
    • For general elements, like objects
    • For slab fills
    • For cut elements

Set Rule Priority

  • The top rule takes priority, so place the most specific rule at the top and the most generic at the bottom.

Define the Rules

General Elements:

  • Criteria: Use the default (Element types as All types).

  • Line Color: Set to medium light gray.

Slab Fills:

  • Element Type: Slabs.

  • Fill Foreground Color: Set to the lightest gray.

  • Cover Fill Option: Turn on.

Cut Elements:

  • Criteria: Wall, column, door, window, and curtain wall.

  • Line: Set to dark gray.

  • Fill Foreground: Set to gray.

Apply the Graphic Override

  • Apply the graphic override to your views.
  • You can customize your design by changing the pen and fill colors or adding extra rules.
