Lightworks doesn't render in Archicad9

Lightworks stop rendering (doesnt' begin instead). Progress bar reachs 40% and the end-rendering beep sounds but there's nothing to see, only the background picture. If I change the view angle or viewpoint height, sometimes it works and sometimes doesn't. Do someone know what could it be ?, this happens at home and office computers, both with same WinXP OS but different graphic cards.

Thanks for asking. Wonderful audiences - great reception and a lovely country all-around. Milford Sound makes British Columbia seem second rate.

Only lightworks orgy was glow worms on Mount Teriaki while waiting for Kiwis to frolic in alpine meadows at dusk.

I'm having my own Lightworks orgy with my computer and my celebratory cup of tea!

It's not the size (nuge, huge) of the rendered image that's a problem - it's the amount of model included in the 3D (which generates without a problem, but doesn't render).

I've now chopped off the back of the building with the marquee, and everything renders okay, except that there's sky coming through the front windows. Think I'll have to put another layer in with a backing wall somewhere inside the marquee. No time to fiddle anymore, in fact don't know how I'll make up 6 wasted hours.

Workarounds, workarounds...

(BTW Nuge - F10 gave me the same problem)

If you can isolate the problem physically, that means a corrupted element...

Now this is getting beyond ridiculous.

Attached is the latest rendering (BTW we like the sand to go into the sky, because that's realistic here, the sky's usually quite beige)

Don't you love the model?

Now I'm really stuck as to what the problem is... because the physical fix obviously wasn't the issue... Video card?

Fed up now...

I have similar problem once. Still don't know what cause it (for sure not video card or lack of ram because it works fine with other, more complex models). Solution was switching off all layers which didn't take a part in exterior scenes like (internal walls, furniture, decoration etc.). I assumed it was some corrupted library part but funny thing is that interior scenes with all layers on worked fine as well...

is there some sort of limit to the number of polygons or faces that lightworks can handle ?

Kim,
your rendering is beautiful in its abstract forms

I think, you've got a corrupted element somewhere in your model as Dwight was suggesting that's for sure. I've had the same problem some time before after using SEO quite extensively. Try to use marquee to locate the problematic area. Read this topic for some hints:

You have to make sure that your model is not several 100 kms away from the origo. That will for sure make rendering problems with stripes.

We had the same problem with a client with a new video card - 256MB for computer games - but he could manipulate the settings for the card and make it work with ArchiCAD and LW.

I am getting the same problem, I am also having problem with my trees' having shadows. I go through trying to find the object that is causing a problem, but I go through select groups of objects and they all render fine, then when I try to do the whole model it gives just the background. sometimes changing the size and resolution can cause it to happen and other times it doesn't matter. This problem is causing the job to take way to long!
