Material with different reflection

Anonymous
Not applicable
Hi,

I need some help on this one. I want a floor with tiles, but every third tile should be a blank one with reflection. The others not so much.
Is this possible? (something like the picture)

AFAIK, LightWorks in ArchiCAD only supports using an alpha channel for a bump map (or displacement)...?

You're needing a map to define reflectance, which you can do in Artlantis 3 which supports grayscale maps for: reflection, shininess, bump, normal and transparency. (Other advanced rendering engines support these things and more, of course.)

Cheers,
Karl

You'd make a reflection map just like modulating any other channel.

The trick is to make a texture image that contains several tiles, with only one masked.

The quicker solution for a one-off is to simply apply a thin skin with an identical image having a reflective surface where you need shine.
