- 50grEy - allows you to simulate a GI solution using a light dome in V6
- bhoudNUT FRESNEL - comes with the software
- BVH - comes with the software
- Maxwell ( I tried to make it work but it´s not for version 6 )
- RES
Each one has an specifc folder in the PLUGIN folder.
The Cinema 4D CE6+ has only the following menu ways for configurations:
- MENU EDIT > PROJECT SETTINGS
- MENU EDIT > GENERAL SETTINGS
I could not find PREFERENCES in the menus. None of the following menu ways has an specific configuration for plugins
People in the tech support only works with the version 8 or later. This what they said as an answer of my last support message. So I think there is no available support for version 6. Maybe I am wrong.
Forgive my grammatical english language errors. In Brazil we speak Portuguese.
THANKS A LOT.

Every plugin is installed in the Cinema4D\Plugins folder, where each plugin has its own folder.
E.g. C:\Cinema 4D CE 6\Plugins\50grey\
This folder contains the 50grEy.cob, 50grEy.cof and tif files.
E.g. C:\Cinema4D CE 6\Plugins\bhodiNUT FRESNEL\
This folder contains cdl, mdl and xdl files and res, resources and strings subfolders.

I DID JUST LIKE YOU SAID TO ME AND THEN I COULD SEE THE PLUGINS AT THE MENU LIST BUT THIS LIST WAS ALWAYS GREYED.
I SPENT SOME TIME TRYIND TO UNDERSTAND THE REASONS. I THINK
I GOT PART OF THE ANSWER
THERE PLUGINS THAT BECAME AVAILABLE DEPENDING ON THE KIND OF OBJECT IS SELECTED. I STILL DON´T KNOW EXACTLY WHAT KIND.
OTHERS PLUGINS ARE USED AS A TAG ADDED TO A SELECTED OBJECT. 50gREY IS ONE OF THIS PLUGINS BUT EVERY TIME I TO ADD THIS TAG I GET THE MESSAGE - " NO LIGHT DOME OBJECT FOUND-YOU MUST USE A POLYGON OBJECT AND A VALID NAME"
COULD YOU HELP AGAIN ??
THANKS A LOT.

You have to read the documentation for the available plugins.
A polygon object means that the object is not parametric anymore. You can turn any object into a polygonal mesh, but it will loose its creation parameters then.
What you did was selecting a parametric object (e.g a Sphere, with a Sphere icon) and then tried to add the tag. The tag has a "name" field, which is the text of the object it is looking for. This is by default called "use a polygon mesh", which is obviously not a valid object, but a hint to what the tag requires.
Click on the icon in the toolbar at the left "Make Object Editable" (the one with the orange vase pointing at a blue vase). This turns the selected object into a polygon mesh. Give it a clear name, e.g. "DOME".
Now apply the tag again (remove the previous one) and type "DOME" into the text field that requires the name. What happens now is that the 50grey plugin automatically creates a lightsource on every vertex of the mesh.
