POST-PROCESSING

I will be investing in some post-processing software for renderings soon.

Does anyone have experience with these three?

Photoshop
After Affects
Nuke

Which would you recommend?

You will need Photoshop always and it is the standard option for stills. After Effects and Nuke are for animations.

Have a look at Affinity Photo and Affinity Designer (Affinity Publisher will be landing in public beta soon).

These are credible alternatives to the Adobe Creative Suite products, They're $70US, no subscription and Affinity Photo at least can read and write Photoshop files.

+1 on Affinity but I think that the Plugin will only run within PS.

a bunch of PS plug-ins can be used with Affinity Photo. The forum and their YouTube site have more info about this.

And just in case, It might not be the best software, but I replace Photoshop with Gimp a few years ago for still post Processing and I haven't really to spend money on post processing software for still renders. Again not saying is the best but it works pretty good for me.

Affinity Photo is so inexpensive that there is no reason to use GMP.
