Physically Based Rendering in 3D in AC27

Florin Luca

Hi everyone,

I have a generic white surface and here are the 3D views with and without the new Physically Based Rendering option. I like the softness of the new rendering option, but why the difference in color? The lights settings (sun, ambient) have not changed between these two shots - bright white, or close to. How can we control the light color?

Any thoughts?

Having similar issues with Bimx files.

Clients keep asking why the walls are grey and\blue.

These are white walls with a white texture applied. Even with the sun directly overhead (third image), the colours are just wrong.

Hi Roland, I wish to join those who have reservations about colors when 'Physically Based Rendering in 3D' is enabled.

Top image was generated with 'Physically Based Rendering in 3D' disabled, and the bottom one with the feature enabled.

The internal walls are Gypsum Plasterboard, Paint-Glossy White. Notice the internal white walls in the bottom image are displaying the same as the fireplace chimney pipe with Cast Iron surface. Please let us know of any improvement of this experimental feature in the future. Thanks.

Does PBR take into consideration any light sources?

I have not tried it so I am not sure.

The areas in direct sunlight do not look too bad.

It is just the inside where there is no light that is appearing dark.

If it can recognise an internal light source, then problem should be solvable.

Or are those light sources only usable in Cinerender images and not PBR?

I think it looks really good for what it is.
