SOLVED!

Preserve photo quality and colors saved into pdf #2

Hi!

I mistakenly placed original post as solved but it is not solved.

I have problem with Archicad saving layouts into pdf with darker colors and low quality photos/drawings. All looks good in archicad but once it process and save into pdf then it is way darker. And uglier. I tried saving in the highest quality as always 9000dpt. Nothing changes.

Someone mentioned it had to do with Archicad process setting that changed in 2022 (for some great priority reason other than preserving photo colors and quality).

To us , presentations are very important, first to present to client and second when we print. We are high-end studio and the last thing is to have our expensive software produce pdf like I did it quickly in some free online tool - when it comes to pdf. I appreciate everything looks nice in archicad but I need it to look nice also in front of clients as that’s what matters.

I tried to contact graphisoft with absolutely no feedback (usually they respond if any issue arises but not to this). Our sales rep mentioned to book a call with support to solve it but that there is hourly fee. (🤯) I don’t know if they are aware of this issue or if they are working on it, or if they decided not to work on it at all and ignore it. The last would obviously not be a satisfactory to us to continue using Archicad at all, especially considering the investment, it should do the basics…

Which is why I am asking …. Since Archicad 27 is coming … I wonder if this had been fixed? I know some of you are testing. I am also asking because in a few weeks our annual license expires and we are unsure if we should keep hoping or look at another architectural solution.

thank you for your imput.

Thank you! I just sent everything to support including pdf. Really appreciate your feedback because at least I know what the issue is and that there is hope for fixing it🙏

By no feedback, do you mean that they did not reply with a case number for their investigation, or that you have not heard anything.  What country provides your support?

we have the case number, and that is it. We already actually emailed them around 3 weeks ago, also not feedback but this time I placed the pdf to see the issue. So in short, we have case numbers but no further feedback

I haven't seen others post with your issue, so I think only you can test to see if the issue remains.  It is a free download, so what's the harm in just doing it?  You never have to uninstall previous versions.

I did see other posts, including this thread. However I guess it is issue regarding MacBooks and I am sure it is not just me, as your solution for saving in "print as" worked perfectly. 😭 But just for one page at a time which we can't accept.

UPDATE: Downloaded arch 27 , MacBook Pro intel, the issue still persist. Week 8 no feedback from archicad support.

However one thing - I was not able to figure out how to I select these 40 pages and save them all at once? (I tried select all but it will only select the first one, not all). Thank you endlessly

In Karl's screen shot of the Print dialog box, select Selected Layouts in Navigator rather than Entire Layout, this will create a pdf file of all the Layouts selected (select the Layouts before opening the Print db).

You should add a Signature to your Profile (click the Profile button near the top of this page) with your ArchiCAD version and operating system (see mine for an example) for more accurate help in this forum.

thank you David - I will test this again through the Selected Layouts in navigator. Although I believe I already did it that way, however even then, in “print” was still selected only one (active) page.

I’ll try again and update here accordingly today with my signature. (I could not find where everyone adds it 😅)

It is not working as mentioned, it only select 1 layout even if I choose 3 or 20 :(((

I tried both from Layout book and Publisher set. The result is same > file > print > only showing 1 page, not 3 as selected. David - On your end, it works? Could you please share print screen with me?
