You mean, the mass-produced all-the-same hamburger effect, or how your butt looks after the client sees the rendering effect?

You always know you scored a point when your opponent resorts to insults.

Miguel, I'm far-away from insulting anyone or his work. Was hoping rather to match your sence of humour. Sorry.

Pawel, no offence taken, I was just stating a fact. And I try to make humor about situations, not about people and their specific work (sometimes I fail...)

Although, it seems to me that people here are sometimes to eager to laugh at the expense of other peoples work.

Which goes a long way to explain why so few post their renderings, I guess.

It's a great feeling of staisfaction to draw something by hand, and make a nice rendering, isnt it? and in todays world which is becoming dominated by computer renderings some clients, IMHO, see a hand rendering as a breath of fresh air, so to speak.
Agree. It was exactly what I have been hearing from my old-generation lecturers during studies. Handrafting and watercolouring will always be good counetrweight for haughty renders. Customers demand visualization of everything now renderers have tendency to simplify are avaible more than ever market is awash with B-class visualizations meaning of this 'sofisticated way of simulating reality" devaluated a lot.

BTW, I had a client who was continually not fully happy with renders I sent him. I tried some PP sketch rendering and finally got very pleasant call.

Miguel,

I always ask for comments and critics when I post something, it is natural way of learning - to listen what others think about your work, even if they make jokes. I'm really looking forward to see how others cope in this field.
That's way I'm asking for this:

Please vote.

BTW, it is second time that I (we) took over someone's topic, we should stop doing it.

Agreed. I will refrain from taking over others people work.

Referring to how crap the finished product looks when compared to a beautiful rendering....

The feeling you get is not a happy feeling.
Miguel,

those words of yours sold me ArtR. I'm also a "keep the client happy" renderer, and your views on how you use it applies perfectly to my needs. So I placed an order. Received it today, and before long I got interior results far beyond the usual dead, crypt-like feeling I've been getting, except when I've applied all the tricks Dwight has managed to get across my hard-taught brain. But those rare pictures take a lot of work, and renders in eons of time on my ancient hardware.

Right when I got ArtR, I found the old advantage that it being an external process made it possible for me to go on working as usual. Even with this slow machine, the dual processors work. Also, I found that compared to Art4.5, this program is much more efficiently multithreaded, so the individual windows and even the rendering responds instantly to clicks and if I want to stop it.

I went through Abvent's tutorials on their web site, but I find them a little shallow in some aspects (Of course good for me as a beginner).

Below is a work in progress: An internal rendering with only the Heliodon, and a little dark blue ambience to add some blue tint to the shadows.

I find it a lot more difficult to handle the radiosity in the exteriors - still getting better results using extra lights with Dwight's Lightworks lighting tips - they are very useful in this environment too.

Where can I find more info about how to handle the Neon glass, and the Atmospheric light you mention?

I have the whole Art4 extra Shader package. Do I have to buy new shaders now, or can they be used with Art R?
