Sketch renderings to scale?

I want to use the sketch rendering engine to present plan and facade drawings, to scale. I have to use the 3D window, and I have no problem using the orthogonal projections, but how do I print the rendered output to scale (in this case I want 1:100)? Am I missing something simple, as usual?

Not missing much ... and rendering is usually not doen to scale. You can do that in Art•Lantis, though.

Anyway - do your elevation at a scale, put the rendering behind, scale it to fit.

Also: if elevation with wiggly lines will suffice, change the 3D linetype of all the elements to wiggles. Extreme case: unlink the elevation, assign wiggly line type to all the lines and hatches.

Thanks Djordje. But that's all workarounds.

Maybe there is place for a wish? Scaled rendering?
For example a Scale (at Resolution) row after the Size row in the Image > Photorendering Settings dialog?

Pleaes move this to the Wishes department (if it's not there already)!

How would you scale a perspective?

I'm old enough to have drawn perspectives the old manual way. There's always a scale to a perspective too, at the "plane of projection" (If not, all perspectives would be life-size!). But that's of course not important in this case, it just means that you don't have to disable this wished feature in the perspective views.

It will have most use in the parallell projections, of course.

A good example of this is the printing in Sketchup, where you (File>Document setup) can set the scale to which you'll print, regardless of parallell or perspective view. This works for printing of both vector and bit-mapped views, which corresponds to what I'd like Archicad to do.

Actually, as I have it available, a faster workaround to do what I want today could be to simply export the 3D view and print it from Sketchup. It has display modes that roughly resembles some of the sketch renders in Archicad.

But I'd rather see it implemented in Archicad. Some clients demand rendered, shadowed facades, sections and plans, nowadays, but still to scale. In this era of rendered games, line drawings just don't cut it anymore for presentations. But the overlay method is tedious.
