License Delivery maintenance is expected to occur on Saturday, November 30, between 8 AM and 11 AM CET. This may cause a short 3-hours outage in which license-related tasks: license key upload, download, update, SSA validation, access to the license pool and Graphisoft ID authentication may not function properly. displacement disappearing

I am having problems with the displacement of the material not rendering in some parts.
The material is just a plain colour, with a simple matt reflectance shader with casting displacement.

This building is actually a hot linked module

The model is Very large, but even when i marquee the particular area this still happens

Running AC10 with latest fixes, windows XP with a quad core 4GB ram

What sun are you using and at what sampling rate?
What anti-alias and what render quality?

Sorry of course.
i am using the setting as showen in the image.
and then a sun object with 15 samples and 5' of diversion.

these are only process renders, for the final i usually crank the setting up to best anti-aliasing and 3000 x 1500 res.

could it just be the anti-aliasing quality that is giving my poor texture reproduction

You don't have my book.

It looks like you might be in Archicad 12.

Post your machine and software in your forum signature - gets better answers.

Sun gets complex after Archicad 9 - you re probably doing the wrong thing with the sun. Try the Sun Class Shader "Realistic Sun" and thro away the sun object.

lol i do have your book,
it is me me just being lazy and trying to use all the CPU cores. and still get light that disperses.

i am definately in AC10.

Yeah i am now rendering with the realistic sun with the same results.

and i have supplied the results.

this is happening with a few textures, usually ones of large surfaces (outsides of a building)

have you ever had any problems with the casting shader?
the shader values are quite low?

increase realistic sun sampling.

well, it is one thing to have a surface look a little rough, but to have real stuff disappear in the foreground - alarming.

ARE you SURE that the wall is correctly surfaced?
