New material is in the project. When you open the project on another machine, it will be there.
Any project can get materials - or any other "attribute" - from another project by using Attribute Manager to import or replace attributes.

When you are referring to the texture that is used in the material, than you might need to export them as well! They are in the ArchiCAD library, not in the file.
They are exported when saving the 3D model as 3ds, vrml or other formats.
Or you can create an archive file. In the "options..." you can choose to export textures as well.
