The demand for non-American software alternatives is growing, and Archicad stands out as a notable example of non-American BIM software. This can be especially important in scenarios where users are cut off from American technology.
However, since Archicad only runs on macOS and Windows — both American platforms — it cannot truly be considered a viable alternative for avoiding American tech. Therefore, Archicad should be ported to run natively on Linux.
I imagine, this would not be a huge development task, since macOS is already UNIX Certified.
This discussion has been here for 20 years already, and Graphisoft kept silent about it all the way. I dont think we will get this any time soon. its like Fusion reactor promises. But here, I tossed my vote.
I would like to see Archicad working on other platforms than Windows and OS. (for example Linux) The world is changing, and reliable partners might turn out less reliable than we thought.
[From the merged wish.] There is already a wish for Linux: https://community.graphisoft.com/t5/Wishlist/Archicad-on-Linux/idi-p/632798 . While your wish is more general, I think Linux is the only realistic third way at the moment and foreseeable future... BSD users are free to voice their differing opinion :).
