AC27 introduced groups for graphic override rules but it did very little to improve workflow as they are nothing more than a simplistic way to organise a list. This is somewhat understandable for cases when groups are used to contain mutually exclusive rules but even then it would be better handled by search and filter on tag/ID/description.
However, when groups are used to contain complementary rules for classification or graduation the lack of group functionality becomes obvious. Yes - it is possible to add all rules in one group to a combination but there is no real group functionality beyond that which severely hampers the workflow.
It should be possible to see that rules in a combination belong to a group,
it should be possible to remove an entire group,
it should be possible to rearrange the order of rule groups,
and most importantly changes to a group and its rules should be reflected in combinations where the group has been added.
