Make Railings dimensionable

It's so obvious and simple, that it pains to even write about this essentiality:

We can not dimension railings and their parts... (Or CWs for that matter)

That's really really bad.

This is a rail in elevation. I need to know the top. I can only click & pray – it will not link the dimension, so if I change anything this dim will break!

That is such a huge liability!

And since GS always kindly asks, what this means for our business: At best you're laughing stock, at worst you're set out for a catastrophic loss because when things start to not fit on the site – and no, you just CAN NOT physically check every single dim every time you send out documents. You just need to know that it works. That's the whole reason why we are not on the drawing board anymore. For me this is a real showstopper.

The railings could be such a great tool! But we can not use Hotspots or Hotlines in their components (GDL) and so they are left to rot.

There are many great ideas for the (ab-)use of this tool. But for that it would need to play ball and satisfy the minimum requirements for a BIM tool. And being able to dim them is certainly in my top 2.

(also it makes the user question the software as a whole: "oh this does not work, so what else might break in unforeseen ways?". It's a slippery slope you don't wanna be on...)

Been there done that. The railing is horrible to work(model) with and terrible to edit afterwards and lastly dimensioning it is a true pain in the a$$. In some cases it shares some of the malfunctions and shortfalls of the curtainwall (whereas the curtainwall is somewhat, even if just minimally, more reliable)
