ORTHO lock that actually works.

Just basic orthographic lock for dragging/moving. Not snap guides, not distance guides, not locking the direction in only one direction like just 'x' or just 'y', not suggestive snapping, not grid based snapping, just simple 90º ortho in the x, y, and z direction. Autocad did this in like 1980 something? And Graphisoft can't do this in 2026? Please fix the basic interactions instead of feature-puking half-baked implementations.

It is possible to lock the X/Y directions in Archicad as well, by pressing the ALT+Y or ALT+X key combinations, respectively, while your cursor is above the horizontal/vertical Snap Guides. But you have to do it with each new element creation step.

@Laszlo Nagy  . Yes. aware of that but your own post stays the course on why this is an issue: "you have to do it with each new element creation step." <--that's a broken UI in my opinion. If you can do it better why not just do it better? Shiny new features are all the rage in marketing, but we just need the software to work better at a fundamental level.

What I find most annoying, is when you hold shift, the axis turns yellow, you move your mouse, and the snap changes to some random face in the background... What even is the point...
