Reflected ceiling view plan

Just a possibility of changing the view direction from look down to look up in the plans. This way will be easier to make an RCP drawing.

A Reflected Ceiling Plan is not looking up at the ceiling.

If it was, it would all be back to front.

It is reflecting the ceiling down on the floor, so effectively you are above the ceiling.

It's a shame I can give only 1 like to this topic. RCPs are just as I.portant as GA plans.

We just need to be able to work in RCP similar to plans!

(And no, 3D doc is no good. It's slow and not editable)

The implicit opposition to creating dedicated tools and view settings for RCP's is extraordinary, but maybe more insulting is taking the time to criticize the way in which a wish is requested.

If you are referring to my comment, I was neither opposing anything or being insulting, at least I did not intend to.

Just stating that a reflected ceiling plan is not produced by looking up at the ceiling.

It is exactly what it says it is, a reflected plan.

If you lay face down in a room with a door on your left, that is what you would expect to see if you draw a plan of that room.

Now roll over and look at the ceiling, the door will on your right hand side.

Draw a plan like that and it does not match the floor plan.

So I am just saying that a view looking up is not correct.

It will either appear flipped left/right or front/back, depending on which way you roll the camera (view) to look up.

I think it's safe to say that as architects, we all understand that. I assume you were just trying to be helpful, but I think what would be even more so is someone of your status in the GS Community reaffirming the OP that Archicad is hindering the production of a almost universally created drawing.

The wish already has the Upvoted status, which means that it is now in the stage where Graphisoft Product Management will soon review it and make a decision about it.

Yes, there was a Wishlist cleanup after which wishes the community did not give enough votes to were archived. The Top 100 wishes of the INT, GER, and JPN forums were kept (300 wishes in total) with the promise that the GS Product Team would review each one and give feedback on them to consider it, put it on the roadmap, start implementing it, put it on hold, or close it. This process is in progress, and the status of many wishes already shows the result of that review. Currently, 10 wishes are already Under Consideration, and 14 are already On the Roadmap.

Thank you for the suggestion and on-going discussion. We are aware of the importance of this wish and there has been investigation around this topic. However, the focus is on other developments in the short and medium term so I have set the status to "on hold" for the time being.

I am wondering what is more important than a plan view that every single project in every corner of the world requires for documentation.

Ah I see, things like Paramo, that flashes up cause it looks cool, then vanishes, since nobody actually needs it...

Or an anti-BIM Keynote system that is not connected to anything in the model...

Oh yes, we can keep fudging RCP-s and use workarounds, but hat surely raises an eyebrow for users of other BIM tools.
