Hi everyone,
I would like to submit a feature request to improve daily Teamwork workflow efficiency and prevent accidental element locking.
Currently, when closing a project or exiting ArchiCAD, it is easy to forget to release your reservations, which often blocks colleagues from working on those elements until someone requests them or an administrator forces a release.
I propose adding a dedicated option within the Work Environment to automate this cleanup.
How it should work:
- The Option: a toggle/checkbox that automatically triggers Send (or Send & Receive) followed by Release All reserved elements when closing a Teamwork project or exiting the program.
- Location: in my opinion this setting could be placed under Work Environment or in Teamwork section, just something you can set as default for yourself. Other option is that BIMCLOUD Manager could give and take away this kind of privileges on a project.
- Not Default: this should not be a default setting. Many users prefer to keep elements reserved overnight or over the weekend, which is completely fine. It should be strictly optional, allowing individual users to opt-in based on their preferred workflow.
Main Benefits:
- Fewer bottlenecks: prevents Teamwork elements from being accidentally "held hostage" when a team member leaves the office or goes on vacation without having no other choice but to choose the passive aggressive force the user to leave the project 🙂
- Streamlined exit: saves time by eliminating the need for multiple manual clicks (Send & Receive -> Release All -> Close) every time you finish your workday or sometimes reopening the project because you clicked too quickly.
I believe this small addition to the Work Environment would greatly improve collaboration and project hygiene. Let me know what you think!
