Undo for Attribute Changes

I just inadvertently changed all 65 of my paint colors to grey!  It's great that attributes are now in folders, but this was a whole folder full!  Since there is no undo for changing attributes, I had to go back and reload them from a previously saved version of the file.  That worked, but an "Undo" would be much simpler.

Another good reason for an Undo:  I don't always know if changing an attribute is going to give me the effect i want, so I may make an experimental change.  But there is no undo to go back to the way things were if the change doesn't work, so I must carefully document the way things were before I make the change.

Just save the file before you make an experimental change.

Make the change and if you don't like it, close the file without saving and then re-open it.

Yes, that's obviously the workaround.  But its tedious when it takes me several tries to get what I want.

In a similar situation for me, it is more that I duplicate a GO, change the name, then change the criteria, close the dialogue and wonder why my drawing looks different when I have not swapped to the new GO yet, then it turns out the name was not changed and the criteria change was made to the original rather than the duplicate...

I sometimes notice before closing the dialogue... I believe this stems from duplicating, nor right click renaming, not actually swapping to the duplicates criteria, followed by clicking outside of the GO list resetting any active name change...

Having a global undo button that will undo changes to all of the things that we can currently edit that are ignored by the current undo list would be great. Basically one that includes all of the non-drawing items.

Autocad's undo command is much more all-encompassing: it even undoes zoom and pan, which are actually commands in Autocad, in spite of the fact that mouse has had a middle button (for panning) and scroll wheel (for zooming) for decades and it seems illogical from today's perspective that they're commands.

I strayed off topic a bit, but the point is that Autocad undoes everything - from entity creation, entity properties, view and zoom and everything in between, all the way to system variables and (not all) program options. It undoes whatever gets to be saved into the file, when you issue the "save" command.

Sometimes, this concept of treating everything as an undoable command is a nuisance, but more often than not, it's really time saving.
