Making "distance guidelines" pinnable to the toolbar?

To clarify, I do think that this WAS a feature before, but it no longer is. To turn on distance guidelines, I cannot simply go into the "view" tab and then turn them on, I also cannot pin the setting to my toolbar. Additionally, I also cannot link a shortcut to toggle this s...
