Hi

I have attached an AC 12 .gsm library file. It's just a stair done in AC 11, saved from AC 12 as .gsm. Just wondering if anybody could place this in a empty AC 12 file and get it into VBE and check if there are any problems, thanks.

Carsten
Carsten,
Looks fine. No problems.

Wokka / Cutimbo thanks for this.

So I have one that works and one that has a problem! Can I ask both of you:
- have you used the 32 bit version or 64 bit, AC 12 and VBE?
- International version of VBE?

Wokka, great thanks.

We just gave it another go on the third computer at the office and this time the trial version works! Who nows why but this is great so we can give it a good try.
So far it is quite nice no major problems. There is one hickup, we saved some library parts which included columns from the columns tool and if you resize this library part it will default to the original size in VBE, even so it looks fine in AC 12.
Just for the record we use AC 12 64 bit.

Thanks again

VBE

well it seems that the error is not visible in the VBE trial version and tried to change the parameters of the libraries and in some cases it works, but it is not possible, but not all libraries are the same.

I hope someone solves it

Is it possible that your original model is not located close to the true user origin? Models located many km away from the user origin will display strangely even in ArchiCAD.

Edit: Oh, I see we're talking about just the stairs that you posted. Please post as a zip. I refuse to install any software that unpacks rar on principal.

Hi Karl, here you go, the ZIP file. Yes only the stair which is not far away from the origin. But I know what you mean, if it is to far away from the origin some software have problems to display it correctly even 3D Studio MAX get's to a point where it can't handle it anymore.

Which principle is that?

...that rar is not a format that should be used on public forums such as this, but rather for personal or specialized needs, since the software to open rar files is not built into either Windows or Mac OS as is the case with zip. If feel the same way about (stuffit) SIT files.

My principal (opinion!) is that unless one knows the recipient - whether a client or in a public forum - one should use the most commonly available file formats.
