ArchiCAD to Cinema 4D Plugin problem

Anonymous

greetings to all of you archicad users (my first post...)

I'd need a help on the following problem: when I export an archicad scene or object using the Cinema Plugin to ac4d file, everything seems to be ok. But when I try to open the file in Cinema 4D, the program shuts itself down instantaneously (no error messages, nothing).

I asked the Maxon technical support for the solution, and after waiting for three months I received the answer that "I should delete the Xfrog 3 plugin from the Cinema 4D Plugins folder". I tried, but no change, it still won't work.

I don't have time to wait for another three months, so I ask you archicad users, if there's someone amongst you who's using the Cinema Plugin, have you had similar problems and if so, how did you resolve them?

I'm using Cinema 4D Studio R9 and ArchiCAD 8.1

Thank for your help

There is a patch for the AC plugin for C4d 09 that was just released and in its description it says that installing the original plugin gives an error in C4D09, so problably you have a bad installation of the AC plugin. IF this does not help export from AC using the Alias/Wavefront object format (remember to check the rotated model option), then as long as you don't change the names of the materials in C4d you will be able to change the model and attach the previous materials to the new model from the old one.

ejrolon, thank you for your prompt answer and your time. Installing the patch seems to resolve the problem!

I've been using the old export-import method (via OBJ format) for years and I was happy to find out that there's finally a way to export directly to Cinema file, without having to edit materials in Cinema after exporting. It can be a time saviour, especially when there's a lot of materials in the scene.

In AC go to the 3D View and do a "Save AS.." in the options choose C4
