I am trying to import a bunch of Autocad 3d wireframe parts (Wrightline furniture) into Archicad student 9.

What are the procedures to do so?

Thanks

You need to open them as GDL objects.

Go to File > GDL Objects > Open Object.

Browse to the directory containing the files you want. You will need to open them one at a time and save them as ArchiCAD library parts. If they are the wrong size, check the drawing units set in the translator. The standard architectural one is set to 1". Furniture parts may well use 1/16" or 1mm which would make the imported models much too small.

I have tried several times to get a part in (I have over 500 parts to import!). I don't get any object in the view at all.

I do the File>GDL Objects > Open Object. I get a part window, but I don't get any thing in the preview and Once I save it as a gdl, I still cannot get it into my dwg to check it. Nothing, empty space.

I have Student 9 and I am still having problems with it.

Thanks
