I have a bunch of autocad plans I need to bring into Archicad9 can I use the layers or hatchs from autocad to buid my design in Archicad 9? Are there any shortcuts or "easy buttons" so to speak? Any advice would be appreciated!

Yes, there is!
It is File/Open or Ctrl+O!

What have you tried? I would recommend the first step is looking at your user manual, which gives you at least a little bit of a starting point to see what's possible.

No.

It is File Special/Merge with your template file open.
