Can't open .dwg files in AC29

Hi:

I just started working on AC29 and I can't seem to open .dwg files any more. I was previously working in AC27 and this was no problem. I can still open them in AV27 and then copy those ;ines into AC29, but can't do it directly.

What am I missing here?

Operating system used: Mac Intel-based sequoia 15.6.1 (24G90)

@pcrossington In the Open Dialog you have to be careful to select "All Files", not "Archicad Projects". With the latter of course DWG will be greyed out.

When you say you can't open the DWG files, what happens exactly?

Are you using the Drawing tool to place DWGs? Can you select the DWGs in the File Dialog, but they will not be placed?

How exactly does this error manifest in Ac29? Is there any error message?

Nothing has changed that I am aware of.

Is your problem that you can not browse for the .DWG file type, or just nothing happens when you try to open the file?

Any warning messages?

I used to simply click on Open a new file, browse in my Finder, and open a .dwg file. It now just shows the files as grayed out, so I'm not able to select them. As you can see here, the .dwg is grayed out:

This seems to be Mac OS ? - which I am not familiar with.

Are you opening the file through the FILE > Open menu in Archicad?

Or is this the OS Finder window?

Either way it should be no different for 27 or 29.

Maybe you don't have permission to access these files?

You can also FILE > File Special > Merge a DWG into an already open Archicad file file or place the DWG with the Drawing tool as Laszlo mentioned.

Yes, this is macOS. I'm opening it through FILE>Open in Archicad. When I open AC27 and do the same thing, I'm able to open it. You can see that it's not grayed out here:

As I mentioned I am not familiar with Mac OS.

In Windows, we must choose the file type otherwise we don't see any of those files.
