Converting 3ds files to dwg or dxf

I have some 3d furniture files from the manufacturer but they are in 3ds form. I think to get them into ARCHICAD I need to convert them to dwg or dxf format. Does anyone know how I can do this?

I am trying to import a Rhino model into ArchiCad 16. I have tried by exporting to a dwg and importing like an object but nothing seems to work.

Any help would be very welcome.

IFC may be a route from Rhino to ArchiCAD.
