Assuming this is purely a bifold door object and can't be used as a swinging door you can also over-ride the default orientation.
Open the door script.
Click on the "Details" button at the top.
Choose "Custom" orientation and type in what you want.
No matter how the door is placed the orientation will be what ever you typed.
But note you can not change it unless you resave the object.
Using a parameter as Eriks suggested is probably the best way.
You can just add a new parameter and save the object.
Then you can type in what ever you want in that field (and create favourites if you want to).
Or if you are into GDL scripting you can have that parameter automatically change to what you want automatically based on the set up of the door.
I.E. left swing, right swing, bifold, sliding, etc.
