EDM IFC model server: Howto?

Dear community,

so I finally got my hands on a EDM IFC model server installation. In the IFC guide, there're all these fancy options to directly connect to a EDM IFC model server, check models in and out ect.

After trying to install, deinstall, reinstall the 2x2 and 2x3 add-ons several times now and enabling "Show EDM database dialog before every load and save" under File->File Special->Ifc 2x*->Options I still cannot seem to figure out how to actually get the appropriate dialogs. P21 SPFF i/o works, but no way to connect to a (remote) EDM IfcServer

The additional EDM server menu entries for the File->File Special->Ifc 2x*- sub menu are not showing up. In the manual it says
When you open an IFC file (with the IFC server add-on
enabled) the add-on will check that you have a local
repository (EDM database) enabled:
How do I actually enable this?
Anyone suggestions for me?

Many thanks in advance and
Cheers
Jakob

I do not know if ArchiCad has totally incorporated a EPM remote client application in the program. Would be great. But within the "First Dutch Model server" project www.fidumo.nl we are using the seperate remote client application. So in our case

allplan --> desktop --> epm client application --> epm remote model server

Would be great is you could lose two steps in the process, but EPM will probably not build it. So it's up to ArchiCad to get it working.
