Engineer switching to Revit Structure...

Hi everyone,

It's been a busy year so I haven't had much presence on the forums for a while...so "Hi again!"

My structural engineer is switching to Revit Structure and I was wondering if anyone has had any experience with it. Of course we our goal is to be able to exchange models and so any workflow advice would be appreciated.

Revit 8 will now seemingly export IFC format, but will not import ...... yet.

Not sure; Revit still does not go full Monty on IFC ... see the discussion at http://archicad-talk.graphisoft.com/viewtopic.php?t=7698

Your problem will be how to get your data to the engineer; seems like dumb DWG is the only way for the time being. The other way around it SHOULD work with IFC.
