I see Mac is coming out with a new OS. Are there going to be any issues with Archicad's 12 thru 15 any other issues like having to buy yet another computer. I also here that Intel is coming out with a their next chip will that have it's own issues or is it just too early to know anything about either yet.
Either way this might work for me, timing wise since I'm still on 12 on a PPC Mac it may allow me to skip a few computer generations and save a lot of money or maybe I'll just stock up on cheap used Mac's and never upgrade again. Although there are some nice features since 12.

According to the latest version of the Wiki page AC 14 and 15 are now supported on Lion - MacOS X 10.7.2:

If AC14 is able to work on MacOS X 10.7.2, how do you send drawings to the plotter?
Plotflow is not supported on Lion!

not sure if i understand what you mean - you can either print directly to your plotter from within archicad or via a PDF.

hope that helps.

Can you provide more detail about your plotter, and the way you use it within your office? Otherwise it's difficult to understand why Plotflow is essential to your workflow.

With SnowLeopd, Plotflow is the way to plot AC14 drawings on Canon IPF750, or HP1055CM. I dont know other way...

had a quick look in the user manual of the canon IPF750 and it seems to me you should be able to print directly to it from ArchiCAD - unless print quality is an issue.

sounds basic but have you tried printing straight from ArchiCAD's 2d window directly to your plotter through the normal print command? the same can be done from either the layout book or the publisher.

alternatively, and i would really recommend this is outputting a PDF as a record set and then printing that from either acrobat (the latest version of which has the worst print dialogue ever btw.) or through preview.

hope the above helps.

We have a HP 1055CM (PS3, but I think that's just the postscript option).
It has an Ethernet connection so it appears as a standard printer and we can print to it the same as any other networked printer.

Can you not access your printer this way?

Yes, mine is PS3, too. Ethernet connected too. It is a standard printer too, but.
Since AC12 (or 13), it was very difficult (or impossible) to send drawings to the plotter. Abvent said to send them via Plotflow. Now, I dont know other ways...

We never bothered with Plotflow and have always just printed from AC 9 to date.
We never really had any problems with it. I guess Plotflow might be quicker(?), but printing seems to be fine for us on 14 (and a little bit of 15), so it might worth you having a look at it again?

Good luck
