PC software on MacBook Pro

I just read a post on the ArchiCAD+ forum about running ArchiCAD and AutoCAD on Macbook Pros using Paralells and Bootcamp. Thought it better to ask my question under this heading because it's off the subject of ArchiCAD.

I havn't tried these solutions but wondered how successful they are. Also does anyone have experience of running CrossOver Mac 6.0 from Codeweavers? It seems to have an advantage that you don't need a copy of Windows.

Thanks for posting this, Philip...news to me. Sounds too good to be true, so I'd also like to hear from someone who has tried it.

Having looked closely at the product, it seems to be some form of program translator rather than an OS emulator. It requires each application to be tailored for the program in some way (presumably by re-coding).

The more popular packages like MS Office have been incorporated successfully, but the less common the program or the more complex it is, the less likelihood of it being useable.

There is a demo version available with which to test your program of choice, but as I only have one Intel Mac (which is mission critical to my business) I'm not prepared to risk testing it!
