The first item is that if everything is working/drawn correctly you shouldn't need to stretch or adjust a line.
One trick is that instead of exporting or using save as of the "complete" drawing save it in parts. First walls and columns, then furniture etc. This should give more control over the elements in Illustrator and should also work with DWGs/DWFs.
Another trick is to export with a color penset instead of Black and White so that you can use Select - Similar in AI to edit the items. This can also work with DXFs.
If using DXFs you could also use the Smart Fill in AI to create a hatch and cover the offending lines.
