Sections on showing in view map

Hi

I'm new to Archicad and having an issue that I cant seen to create sections. Not sure where I'm going wrong, have watched a few training videos on setting up sections and don't seem to be able to find  online information to put me on the right path.

When using the section tool a lot of the setting options are grey out and can be changed.

I have gone through and add a section to the floor plan but there does seem to be a view of of anywhere.

A file appears in the Project Map labelled independent but with no section image and nothing in the view map.

Any assistance would be much appreciated.

Cheers

Just under "Name" where is says "Place a linked marker", change that to "Create a new section viewpoint".

Otherwise it will want to link that to another viewpoint or drawing by using the 'Browse' button next to ... 'with marker reference to'.
