Window Door Addons

I would like to know which window door addon you would recommend?
Cadimage Door and Window Builder or
D3 Real Doors+Windows
Pros & Cons I have no programing skills.
Or is there another one to consider?

Thank you

Door & Window builder acts like a single object with a TON of parameters. It's extremely flexible, but can be hard to learn and slows down your 3D rebuild time.

Real Doors & Windows are a lot of individual objects, each of which represents a different type of opening (fixed window, double hung, etc. and swinging door, sliding door, etc). It's a little simpler than the GS doors, but do not have the nice graphical interface.

As much as I complain about them, I'd recommend the GS doors & windows over an add-on unless there's something you really need to do that you cannot. Is there something you want to do that you cannot do with the GS doors?

I recommend Door/Window Builder. It can be tedious to learn, but once you save some favorites, it's easy.

The Window Builder is pretty good -- far more flexible and powerful than any GS object -- and includes a pretty nifty Window Schedule object (although we usually have to explode it in order to get the output we need) -- like Stephen said, a bit tedious. We don't use the Door Builder -- this object does not work with the IS (so these doors are not included in our Door Schedule).

in my opinion, the GS doors and windows are awful. Scheduling a grouping of windows is terrible.
The door and window builder, to say the interface is bad is an understatement, but at least it is more versital.
Real windows and doors to me is the best, easy to use, easy to schedule, but sometimes they are buggy with new releases, and the ower is always slow to have them upgraded. to me ease of use and scheduling are most important.

to me Graphisoft needs to upgrade windows and doors with the upgrade, a true upgrade. not insignificant additions that are meaningless

Thank you for your help.

I'm not having much trouble with just single doors or windows. I have trouble ganging them together. I wanted to put this 1/2 rnd on top of this triple window when I gang them together the trim is removed to do it, but how do I get the trim to be above the part without the 1/2 rnd ? I thought I should gang the 3 windows together and not use the pre made one then just put the 1/2 rnd above the center one but I got error messages. Another thing I wanted to do was make an eyebrow window this size I was able to change the width but when I changed the height got another error message (second screen shot). I was also wondering how to do a cased opening and garage doors with the top corners angled.

Thank you

See the Object Depository > 08 Doors-Windows > Doors -- there are also some posts that discuss how this object was made.

Did anyone ever resolve the error in line 840? I am attempting a similar eyebrow window but run into the same wall as BAS. I need it to be 5' wide and 14.625" tall.

I would like to bring this topic up to date if possible with insight from people that are familiar with the add ons. For AC 12 what add on or door/window package would people recommend. I'm upgrading from version 10 to AC 12 and would like to take my 3d modeling to the next level. In the past I have always had issues trying to use the standard graphisoft doors/windows with units that need to be ganged together either horizontally or vertically in order to call them out in the interactive schedule as one unit and not have to explode the schedules. Its also very frustrating to get the trim and sill conditions to look right in both 3d and 2d. I was looking into purchasing the Residential Collection from D3 that includes the doors/windows, 3d trim, as well as the 3d kitchen/bath package all in one for $299. Any recommendations on whether or not this would solve some of the previous issues I mentioned, in regard to also upgrading to version 12.
