Working with Structural/MEP engineers not on ARCHICAD

You are correct - I did not take that part of the direction literal and should have.

I ham struggling as I am finally beginning a couple of large projects.

Very large so have to hire Engineers like I always do but also some new staff.

I left AECOSim from Bentley for Archcad and won't go back .  but I cannot find any local Structural of MEP so killing me.  A lot gets done over the internet but it does not replace one on one.  Onlyy Revit here locally and regionally.  I know Archicad is the best ut I am gettering ready to pend a lot on software  and struggling.

Right now I work daily in 3 BIM packages and it is painful and creates confusion.

This I know is a side thought to the original but a part of it until I can settle a teams.

There are various resources available from Graphisoft on working with engineers via IFC format. You'll just have to find ones that know how already, or are open to learning how to export IFC that will be usable for you.  Hopefully others here will provide some tips as well.

You can now even hotlink Revit files into your ARCHICAD model.  (I've not tried this myself.)

For IFC, see for example:

Also, this document on BIM Design Collaboration has useful information even though it is 4 years old now... so some steps/issues have changed for Revit collaboration:

The problem is it becomes my issue and mine and cost.

Will have to spend a lot just to be able to work with them.  Firms of substance don't have to bend to my software as they are too busy to fool with it.

So far I have to translate all into 2d plans and work with small firms who can't handle the software change.

It is killing me as I want so bad to switch full time instead of training.

I love the product just cannot find any Engineers in close proximity.

We've tried IFC before and it took a full time staff and no one was happy (This was with AECOSim) so not comparable but I am on the wrong end of bargaining with Engineers and other Architects.  So far all firms have turned me down if I make the switch and most now require another package.  Struggling commercially here.
