Zones and Door/Window Schedules...Again

I'm so sick of this problem I could...never mind. I have a PLN that simply will not return all (it does some) zone locations in the door and window schedules. I've tried all the *bleeping* workarounds we've been forced to use for years including enlarging the zone boundaries beyond the enclosing walls, flipping markers, cutting and re-pasting zones, etc. Has anyone found a solution? Is it maybe fixed in 17? I haven't opened this project in 17 because I'm close to finishing CDs.

Bitten by this bug yesterday. Was able to force some of the windows in the schedule to refresh, there was one that never did.

How is a zone associated to an element?
In the case of a window, is the association with the wall element or the window object?

Hi Schmidi

I have looked at your file

At first I thought it was the way you had used walls to make your model (you have 7 walls in places that could just use one new composite). But this was not the problem
I noticed that the interactive scheduler would pickup the zone, but the window itself would not.
So I scripted an ArchiCAD window (so I knew it was not a 4D Library issue) to show the zone in plan - and it would not show the zone unless the walls and zone were at zero to the project
I then changed the wall projection to 'symbolic' and the zones started to work

The fix is to set all your walls to 'Symbolic' in 'Floor plan and section..' within the window and doors settings.

This is definite bug. I will report it to GS.

Thanks Ben for looking into this problem and providing a solution. Thanks to everyone else who have put thought to this issue. Yes, the new composite method is one I am very keen on but hard to sway others to adopt.

This works:

Change Wall containing problem window in ' Wall Selection Settings > FLOOR PLAN DISPLAY ' from std (mine is ' Projected with Overhead ' to ' SYMBOLIC CUT '.

The Zone element now provides correct data to schedules, inbuilt and 4D.

Thanks again.
