import RVT files?

I am new to archicad. I tried search for a way to import REVIT bim objects into Archicad 21. (RVT files), since those are the most common format supplied by product makers.

Is this possible, without having revit installad and converting those to IFC?

In that case, the Revit modeller needs to export ideally to IFC 4 using the Design Transfer MVD and the ARCHICAD translator has to be checked for the best import settings.
Hi,

Then how to do this.
Thank you.

The RVT file is Hotlinked - you can only place an RVT file via the Hotlink. You can't edit any Hotlink directly. If you no longer want it Hotlinked, you should embed (break) the Hotlink (therefore no longer linked to an external file). This is why the OK button is disabled.
HI,
Ok. I will try.
Then we can edit the wall and other things it will be parametric?
Or only few parameters we can change?

Thank you

As described in the RVT/RFA documentation, content is not parametric (the geometry is fixed). Please make sure you read the documentation as others have mentioned as well. The documentation isn't that long!
Then try it out.

Great tool Link - especially when you just need a quick import for context and such.

One thing I have found is that the file seems to crash if the add on is not installed locally, particularly when you try to go to 3D view and the .RVT hotlink is selected.
Once the add on is installed, it does appear to fix the problem however.

The only way to get Revit file content into AC20 is via IFC, you will need to have file saved as IFC from Revit

So I was able to import the modeling side of the revit file into archicad20, but is there any way to be able to transfer both the 2d and 3d properties from revit to archicad? I have an entire house plan in revit that I want to open up in archicad.

Only by saving out 2d dwg from Revit, but all ‘smarts’ in annotations are lost
