Who are you?
"I work as a self-employed software developer in Vienna (I originally come from Kaprun, a small ski resort in the Alps). I mainly develop solutions for Archicad distributors and users. I also offer my own solutions directly to Archicad users."
What motivated you to develop for Graphisoft products?
"During my studies I programmed many finite element simulations. I wanted to continue working in the direction of finite elements / CAD / engineering software and looked around. I already knew Archicad from a friend. So it was also on my list. It was then by chance that the add-on API matched my previous knowledge (C++) so well and I immediately found a connection in the community."
How long have you been active in the Graphisoft community?
"I have been in the Graphisoft Community since April 2021 and I am very active in the Developer Forum there."
About Archi-XT
"I mainly develop add-ons that are intended to make the daily planning work of architects easier. This includes the following add-ons:
- Floor finish tool / Room coverings
- Live TOP stamp
- Save layer settings
- Ortho-Tool
- Pen Manager
Usually I also do a lot of contract work with very different focuses. But here too, tools that are intended to help with planning or automate special workflows predominate. I also create GDL objects as contract work, as standalone small free objects or as part of my add-ons."
What inspired you to come up with the idea for your developments?
"At the beginning I read a lot in the forum to find out what was needed and as a result I then developed the Pen Manager add-on “as an exercise”. The further ideas then came from various users:
- Floor finish tool: idea from Lukas Oelmüller from Staab Architekten
- Ortho-Tool: Gerhard Hladik from Salzburger Planwerkstatt
- Live TOP-Stamp: Josef Buchner & Lukas Vorreiter from sitka.kaserer.architekten
What challenges did you face during development?
"I often find the balance between new features, documentation and marketing very difficult. As an independent developer, you have everything in your own hands but you also have to manage your time well.“
Are there any interesting findings or insights behind the scenes?
"Recently I also got a little more taste of architecture myself. In February 2026, I did an architecture internship at Hoppe-Architekten in Vienna 🙂 I really enjoyed helping directly with planning in Archicad."
How does your solution add value for Graphisoft users?
"Fast feedback is important to me for users. So that their changes are also immediately visible. Information that would otherwise only be visible or could only be entered via detours should be available directly. So in the end it is of course about saving time. But I also hope that my developments will reduce frustration a little."
Do you collaborate with other community members or teams?
"I have already worked with many community members and I particularly like these collaborations in our community. For A-NULL I create the A-NULL add-ons. There I work very closely with Bernhard Binder & Andreas Muttenthaler. Then I regularly develop add-ons for Richard Spracklen for his company. Botonis Botonakis, Marek Jablonski and Atakan Demirkiran are very generous with their feedback on my add-ons and all long-time users. There are a lot of Archicad users in Australia. I have already worked with several of them. Under the leadership of Davor Petranovic I worked on the BIM4BIM Audit Tool. For Daniel Schaggeman from macInteract I worked on sonar.ac. And together with Scott J. Moore I created an internal add-on for Fulton-Trotter Architects.
Which solutions do you offer?
- Live TOP stamp: An apartment stamp (called TOP stamp in Austria) that sums up the room areas per apartment.
- Floor finish tool / Room coverings: Creates wall coverings as extra native wall and ceiling coverings as native slab.
- Save layer settings: Allows easy saving of the current layer settings into existing layer combinations.
- Ortho-Tool: Alignment of walls & beams along the x/y axis when there is only a small deviation from it.
- Pen Manager: Allows copying multiple pens to other positions or into other pen sets.
