AC10 Layout not "seeing" PDF

I have PDF file containing sheets that I want to import to layouts. When Browsing for the PDF AC will not "See" PDF's with long filenames. I had a PDF with 33-characters. When shorted to 21-characters, the file was seen in the browse window. I guess there is a character limit on the PDF filenames.

This character limit is not just restricted to PDF's I couldn't see a JPG I wanted to import until I shortened its file name.

My guess that it applies to all file formats.
