Bug? Cannot dimension detail/viewpoint

watch the video first. so after that interesting result, i ended up deleting that dimension, now i can no longer dimension this detail or it's viewpoint. i've rebuilt it, i've quit AC, still can't. works fine in other views, just nonow when i try to place a dimension, the drawing origin gets selected as the one and only point! regardless where i click, and i can't select another node or place.

update. the only way i was able to move past this issue was to completely delete the detail and start again. which, of course i didn't want to have to do, but i was wasting more time trying to fix it than just redoing it. no issues now.
