Can't rename Interior Elevation

Hi all,

 

For some reason the individual interior elevation won't inherit the Name defined in the parent IE Group’s settings.

It is set to “By IE Group.”

 

Please see a screenshot where I compare both ArchiCAD 26 and 27.

 

It works all fine in 26. It doesn't work in 27.

 

It shows correct name under "Name", but incorrect under "Reference to"

 

Any suggestions anyone?

The 5030 update is out.

the decimal point alignment is still just doing Right Aligned

Thank you for your reply on this post. I'm curious on how you achieved your Interior Elevation Marker to have your ID's A,B,C&D inside your marker. 

I have only been able to achieve this so they sit externally but would ideally have it similar to yours.

I have to custom write each single ABCD interior elevation because archicad doesn’t have this option (maybe there isn’t budget for this upgrade)  ……… 

 

in fact, interior elevations settings are very abandoned. 

 

besides renaming it I have to make also extra clicks to allow custom names (abcd) -  extra click for each elevation).

And then, if you want it to be organized by number instead of alphabet, which you have to add manually too, now once you are at 10, you realize that archicad doesn’t recognize 10 as higher than 9 but will put it right where 1 is.  So your elevations that you spent time custom naming by number so you organize it the way you want (for me it’s floor plan layout) will go instead of 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,10,11…. Will be : 1,10,11,12,13…3,4,5,6,7,8… 😜

 

and on top of it, do not change the numbers after you rename it to abcd…. Because it will be renamed automatically to the number you just wanted it to be  organized by 😜🤣🤣

Thank you for your reply, it's very kind. I have already placed in custom text. I guess I was more curious how Allan got it placed internally to the marker instead of externally like mine.

The problem is that:

1. the Standard Archicad Library 2D Object does it,

2. but the Standard Internal Elevation Tool Marker does not do it.

 

The only way to get it is to "Fake It" (2D Marker Shown & Internal Elevation marker hidden) or

get someone with GDL knowledge to recode the Internal Elevation Tool Marker.

I recoded the Marker.

Sorry,

this does not help you get an automatic marker,

but does allow the output you are after.

P.S.

Style 3 will only show Numbers, Style 5 will display Letters.

Oh gosh 🤣 I am more confused than I was before. I mean wow that you had made it this far and coded. But I am asking “WHY” it is the way it is

,elevations are clearly undeveloped, and why archicad isn’t working on correcting these items. Is there no budget (because there is so many fundamental issues that must be piling by now) or they don’t know about this (I doubt)?. Would they have to build archicad from the start to build it properly so there aren’t workarounds to things that should be easy,  or is this easy fix but they are just uninterested in clients feedback? I just want to understand. 💆🏼‍♀️

No because all wishes that I spent time placing always had responds with “long workarounds”. I was warned not to place wishes if they have solution which apparently is the “workaround”. 


I guess I can try again! How one promote a wish?
