Canon plotter iPF750 printing only layout margins

Hi everyone,
we are working on Mac platform, with AC 13 and have a Canon iPF750 plotter.

We usually export our layouts to PDF file, and use Adbe Acrobat Pro 9 (or Acrobat Reader 10) to plot. This method has benn working fine since we bought the plotter, one year ago.

Unfortunately, last month we updated our OS to 10.6.7 version, which started causing problems. If we now try and print anything with the plotter, all it gets printed is the layout margins (correct scale and color) with no other content (no drawings, no text, nothing). The same files are visualized properly by Acrobat, and printed correctly by our desktop printer (Canon iX4000).

We tried to fix the problem by updating everything (OS is now 10.6.8, Archicad, Canon plotter driver, including a special patch issued by Canon to fix this specific issue). Unfortunately, we got no improvements.

Today I'll have to take the files to be printed somewhere else to meet my deadline (and pay some 500 euros for it, having a 1 year plotter sitting right next to me).

Is there anything else I may need to do to fix this problem? I really dont want to call Canon assistance (and pay more). I already gave them a call, and they did not even know about the special patch issued by Canon to fix this problem.

Thanks!

Enrico:

Not a fix but an alternative: try plotting rather than printing. AC 13 includes a plotter driver for the Canon iPF750. For spooling the plot files, use PlotFlow, which is in the ArchiCAD 13 Folder.

David, thank you for the advice, however we want to maintain our current workflow:

Archicad -> PDF file -> plot/print

In this way, we are sure that the copy we keep (the pdf file) is always consistent with what gets sent out (in paper or file).

If we have to split the pdf and print process into two separate flows, we need more time to do the same job and take in the risk of not being 100% consistent.

We need to get our workflow back to work.
