Control pens for storeys below

Hi Everyone.

I have a mutli-level building and on some levels I would like to information for the level below. I can set the floor cut plane, but there is no pen control. Is there any way to control pens like in section / elevation views where object behind a certain distance have different pen settings. are there any workarounds to achieve this?

Thanks

I guess you won't get exactly the same effect as you would with a section, but you might try to control it with the Graphic Overrides.

You can try creating a new Graphic Override Rule that changes the Pen of All Elements that have lower elevation than your current story's level.

The problem is that you would have to create such GO combination for each story separately.

Thanks that's a great idea to try. Just wish it could be implemented in upcoming versions to get better control of plans.

You can have a set of normal plan views and create a separate set of over / underlay plan views which you can combine on your layout sheet. The appearance of the overlays could be controlled by Graphic Overrides or even a different pen set. This would also allow you to hide irrelevant layers.

what Mr MGSketcher suggests is the solution i use and ir works great. I have a cloned folder with all lines in grey or whatever color you like and a layer combination that excludes non essential objects.

Sometimes you will need to edit the layout shape to cut out some parts You don't need from the underlaid plan, but once it's done it all updates automatically.
