Dimension Text Placement

When I have dimension text placement set:  Main dimension (text)  is center &  and short dimension (text) is set to below dimension string.  But when I create new dimension string it does not position the short dim line under the dimension string ~ it puts in on top of string.  I would like it automatically located under the dim. string.  What am I missing?    Dimension is a continuous line.   Thanks for your help.

ELEVATE:

That setting seems to apply to only interior dimensions on the string, not at the ends.

You should add a Signature to your Profile (click the Profile button near the top of this page) with your ArchiCAD version and operating system (see mine for an example) for more accurate help in this forum.

Besides choosing the "Flexible" Dimension Text Placement Method, is the "Allow below Dimension Line" option also enabled? From your screenshot, it seems like it is not enabled. It is the button to the right of the Placement Method button in the Info Box.
