How to assign renovation status to detail markers?

I may be going blind, but cannot for the life of me see how to set the renovation status of a detail marker.
Grid markers, dims and text can have renovation status, so why can't detail markers? They are used in pursuit of the same documentation intent.

I would have thought it entirely foreseeable that detail references applying to a new building work status plan would not apply on a demolition status plan.

Yes, there is a workaround using layers, but this is an extra step and is an aberration in that it is otherwise completely unnecessary to define different layer combos for different phases of work.

Known limitation. Same with any kind of marker.
