How to enable Shadows and Hatching in Elevation and Section

ARCHICAD allows users to quickly apply hatches and shadows to elevations and sections. To enable shadows and 3D vectorial hatching, please follow the steps below.
  1.  Navigate to Elevation or Section.

  2. Open the Elevation (or Section) Settings dialogue box of the current viewpoint. Do a right click on the tab and select Elevation (or Section) Settings.

  1. Under the Model Display tab, set Fill Uncut Surfaces with: Own Surface Colors (Shaded) and enable Sun Shadow.

Note: You can further customize the shadows by adjusting the angle of the sun azimuth and altitude.

  1. Click OK to exit the dialogue box.
