How to hide a single object ie Zone

Johann_P

I'm trying to hide just one zone from a floor plan.

I still want to show all the other zones.

The same plan is used at the same scale in other drawings, so I don't want to edit the Stamp for the scale.

I can't use the renovation filter, as the reno filter is used in other ways already.

I really don't want to create a separate layer just for this one zone.

Is there a easy/good way to hide just the one zone in one particular plan and still show it in other plans?

If you don't want to create a separate layer (that would be best if you want to turn the stamp off as well) and you don't want to use renovation filters, then that leaves you with Graphic Overrides.

Set up a GO that looks for the zone with a particular name (or some other way of identifying just that one zone) and then set the fill to transparent.

This will leave the zone stamp on if that is what you want - stamp but no zone colour.

But if you want to turn the stamp off as well then use a layer.

I am not sure that you want to do this but in theory, you could create a new Renovation Filter, and set the Zone's "Show on Renovation Filter" field to that new Filter.

So whenever that Filter is active the Zone will be displayed, and it will be hidden when any other Reno Filter is active.

Thanks Laszlo,

Can one create additional renovations?
Archicad seems to only allow Existing/Demolished/New, while in Revit renovations can be created additionally.

Also, Revit has a function where you can click/select any element, and hide only that element.

This 'hiding of the element' can either be temporary, for seeing what is behind/under the element for drafting, or one can set it to permanently hidden in a particular view for printing.

This latter would be really handy right now.

Unfortunately, Archicad does not allow you to define addition Renovation Statuses, this is something that has been wished before.
