Pretty general question.
You would probably have to place Zones. They have volume.
Then select the Zone and use the Window\Palettes\Element Information command to bring up the Element Information Palette.
That will give you some volume information.

It is possible to show the quantity of the volume like you show the area in the Zone Tool.

This would make easy reference when refer back.

The zone tool can display the volume. Look in the settings for the zone stamp - you should be able to turn off all the other information that you don't want displayed. Just make sure you have set the height correctly.

It is also worth noting that you wont be able to see the zones in the 3d window if they are turned off in the 'Filter elements in 3d' dialog. Go to 'View' > 'Elements in 3D View' > 'Filter Elements in 3D'. This can be helpful to manually adjust the height.
