Include cache in layout book

This checkbox was available in PM 3.1, but I just never noticed it. Leaving it unchecked drastically reduces the file size. What advantages are there one way or the other?

Stephen... it's not just you! Many of the posts on ArchiCAD talk can be answered by going to the Help menu in Plotmaker (Help/Plotmaker help)

Just click on the "Search" tab; type in "cache"; VOLIA!!!! (see picture attached). No fuss, no muss, no waiting for someone to answer your question on Archicad-Talk. Four mouse clicks, type in three words (as opposed to 30 or so words in your question (and god knows how many mouse clicks)) and chances were pretty good you would have the answer right away.

And Architalkers... the help menu in ArchiCAD and Plotmaker 9 are the best of any version of ArchiCAD ever (I've been using ArchiCAD from version 3.something)

Also while viewing this topic note the difference between the cache and embedding ArchiCAD views:

The embedding option is recommended for archiving purposes, or for moving the file to a computer where the ArchiCAD or the OLE-server applications from which you have imported files are not available.

I work at home, and once a week go up to the office to plot (and get paid). Today, after trying to plot from the office computer, I realized the advantage of "include cache in layout book". The office computer has some libraries that I haven't yet updated-including door/window builder. The windows and doors did not show up in PM and objects were not there either. Now I will update the libraries and always "include cache in layout book" just to be safe. (Despite the file size)
