C coursing chart

Hi there,

I need help with a couple of things. First, I need to display the C coursing chart in elevation views, specifically showing the window height. I'm not sure where to find that setting.

Additionally, I would like guidance on how to add an extra internal elevation to my drawing. I already have two internal elevation views and need to include one more in my floor plan layout.

Thanks!

I have an older CI library (version 25) that has a course height label.

So if you have access to the CI Essential library, you should find it in there,

Did you mean a brick coursing chart like this example below ?

https://www.midlandbrick.com.au/MidlandBrick/media/Documents/BricksBrochures/Midland-Brick-Coursing-...

AC8.1 - AC28 ARM AUS + CI Tools
Apple Mac Studio M1 Max Chip 10C CPU
24C GPU 7.8TF 32GB RAM OS Sequoia
Lenovo ThinkPad X12, i5-1130G7 @
1.1 GHz, 1.8 GHz, 16GB, Windows 11

Yes. How can I show them in elevation view?

This is what an AI Google search had to say, does this help ?

To display a PDF in an elevation view within ArchiCAD, you'll need to first import the PDF as an external drawing. Then, you can explode it into the current view, allowing you to manipulate the individual elements. You can also choose to keep or delete the original PDF object after exploding.

Detailed Steps:
  1. 1. Import the PDF:
    • Go to File > External Content > Place External Drawing.

    • Locate and select the PDF file.

    • Choose where you want to place the drawing (Plan, Section, Worksheet, etc.).

  2. 2. Explode the PDF:
    • With the imported PDF selected, right-click and choose Explode into Current View.

    • You can choose to keep or delete the original PDF object after exploding.

  3. 3. Adjust and Refine:
    • Once exploded, the PDF's elements will be editable in your elevation view.

    • You can adjust the scale, position, and other settings to fit the elevation.

Important Considerations:
  • Layering: Pay attention to the layers and their visibility in the elevation view to ensure the PDF elements are displayed correctly.

  • PDF Quality: The quality of the original PDF will impact the visual result in ArchiCAD.

  • Large File Sizes: Combining image textures in elevations with other elements can lead to large PDF file sizes and slow rendering. Consider flattening the PDF or using "Limit image resolution" in the publisher settings to address this, as suggested on the Graphisoft Community and Graphisoft Community.

By following these steps, you can effectively display a PDF within an ArchiCAD elevation view and integrate it into your architectural design process.

I mean, how do I turn on the coursing chart height from the settings to display it in elevation view like this?

You need either an object or a label that can show the heights in brick courses.

I see you have an Aussie e-mail address, so you may have access to the Central Innovation library?

I am not familiar with it or the default Graphisoft library, so I am not sure if there is anything in there that can show course heights.

I have my own library and course height object that unfortunately I can not share.

I still have my brick coursing chart photo copy from Uni in a folder. It’s up to the designer to specify or calculate the coursing height from the chart if your brick layer doesn’t have one. Generally in Australia we have a brick on edge window sill too and that affects the coursing height under the window sill as well as the angle of the sill brick. Have fun calculating.
