Label reading the lenght of a line/polyline

Hi guys! How's 2022?

A discussion elsewhere prompted me to check if there is a label reading the lenght of a line or a polyline. And it looks like it is not, and on top of that, you cannot ID or label a line or polyline.

Yes, there is a Travel Distance object that can be nicely reshaped and that shows its length in Imperial and metric, and can be tweaked... but that is thanks to the good will of the author of the Travel Distance object. There is also an addon at http://simpleaddon.com/Eng/td_product.html

So... more properties for the 2D elements? Lines, polylines, fills? Hm?

There is a free object based on the polyline accessory made by the french archicad user Yves (https://community.graphisoft.com/t5/user/viewprofilepage/user-id/14214)

You can download it on the french forum www.archi-cadlink.fr after a brief presentation.

You can perhaps ask him here if he can share it with you.

For fire escape paths we have a specific object in our german special suscription library.
Anything similiar for international users?

How do you make the label tool show the length of the morph?

My apologies I made a mistake and don't use a morph to create the fire escape line - I use the railing tool.

I know it seems odd but I often use the railing tool as a 3D line tool for things like drainage runs and fire escape because you can then get access to the data including the 3D line length
